Poloniex Commissions


Poloniex – that crypto exchangewhich offers spot trading and futures contracts. Depending on the selected product and other parameters, the company charges its commission to the trader.

Futures trading

Traders who choose this type of work pay the same fees regardless of the amount traded. For maker The commission is 0.1%, for taker – 0.075%.

Spot trading

Trading fees for spot trading on the site poloniex.com depend on the average trading volume for 30 days and the balance TRX on the trader’s account. In the Exchange Help Center there is a section “Commission Structure”, which publishes a table of fees by level:

  • For trading volume up to 50,000 USD and balance less than 49 TRX. For such clients maker/staker commission is 0.145/0.155%. Fees when paying TRX are 0.1015% for maker and 0.1085% for taker.
  • With a trading volume of up to 50,000 USD and a balance of 49 TRX. Commissions in such case reach 0.115% (0.0805% with TRX) for the maker and 0.125% (0.0875%) for the taker.
  • This level is obtained by those whose trading volume is $50,000 to $1,000,000. USD. For makers the fees are 0.105% (0.0735% when paying TRX), for takers it is 0.12% (0.084%).
  • When the trading volume is between $1 million and $10 million, the TRX balance is not taken into account. TRX balance in this case is not taken into account. Charges for maker – 0.07% (0.0049%), for taker – 0.115% (0.0805%).
  • When trading between $10 million and $50 million. USD. Commission for makers is reduced to 0.05% (0.035%), for takers – to 0.11% (0.077%).
  • When the volume of trading is $50 million or more. USD. For this level, the fees are 0.02% (0.014%) and 0.1% (0.07%) for makers and takers.
  • Poloniex Plus Silver. There is no commission with maker, with taker it is 0.06% (0.042%).
  • Plus Gold. Charges from makers are zero, charges from takers are 0.04% (0.028%).

A trading commission is charged for each transaction. As the 30-day trading volume increases, the rate decreases. Every day, the average TRX volume and balance is calculated. The commission level is updated depending on these indicators. The equivalent of the trading volume in USD is calculated by the average rate BTC-USD using the average price for the day. In order to use Level 2 fees, TRX must be held on the exchange account. The balance equivalent in dollars is calculated based on the TRX-USD price, the 24-hour average.

Program for market makers

Poloniex has developed a program for market makers, where individual trading fee percentages are available to them. Besides commission discounts, they get high API and withdrawal limits, help from a dedicated exchange manager, prompt tech support and early access to new features of the service. They can also connect a whitelist of addresses and access to the roadmap.

The program takes into account the trading volume thresholds. To become a market maker, the user must meet the trading volume thresholds for the month. The criteria are evaluated every month. If the market maker does not meet the threshold values, he/she will be informed about it and offered to increase the performance.

Poloniex Plus VIP program

The exchange has developed a program with 2 VIP levels for regular clients. Its participants get reduced trading commissions, priority technical support and early access to new features. Poloniex has developed the following program levels: Plus Silver and Plus Gold. The first is suitable for regular exchange clients, who did not pass to the Gold level, and for those who trade large volumes, but want to keep anonymity, as on the level 1 account. Features of the different levels of the program:

  • Plus Silver – priority tech support, increased API limit, access to premium features.
  • Plus Gold – account manager assistance, priority whitelisting, higher withdrawal limits, access to the roadmap and beta testing.

Deposit and withdrawal fees

Poloniex does not charge any fees for depositing cryptocurrency. The withdrawal fee depends on the selected digital asset. There is a fixed fee, which covers the cost of the transaction in the network. This can vary depending on network congestion and other factors. Traders can see the current fee for each currency in the “Wallets” section. If a cryptocurrency is bought or sold with a bank card through Simplex, the user will pay between 3.5 and 5% (or $10) per transaction to the payment service and 0.75% to the crypto exchange.
