Registration via mobile app

CEX.IO has an application where you can trade cryptocurrencies and keep track of changes in the market. It is also possible to register an account for trading on the exchange. To create an account, you need to do the following:

• Download the service’s mobile app through the App Store or Google Play.

• Enter e-mail, password, choose country from drop-down list.

• Check your email. Open an email from the exchange and activate the creation of an account using the link. After confirmation, return to the application.

Personal Cabinet

In CEX.IO cabinet, the trader has access to several tabs with personal information and settings, as well as the trading terminal and other platform functionality. Under the user icon in the upper right corner, there is a drop-down menu which contains the following sections:

• Profile. The page shows your first and last name, verification status (verified or not), ID, account type, country and date of birth. It is possible to change the login password.
• Security. You can turn on 2FA in the section.
• Notification Center – opens a new window with all messages received by the user.
• Account activity. Information about all account logins, times and IP addresses.
• API. API access and key generation.
• Account Settings. The section has several tabs: download (send additional files for checking), mobile devices (list of connected gadgets and a button to generate an activation key to connect a new smartphone or tablet).
• Verification. A page where you can go through 3 levels of identity verification to increase deposit and withdrawal limits.
• Social media. The page has an e-mail and user ID, and there are buttons to connect to the account pages in Facebook, VKontakte, GitHub.

Security

To protect your account from hacking, the exchange recommends enabling 2-factor authentication (2FA). You can do this on the “Security” tab in your personal cabinet. There are 2 ways to enable the function:

• Via Google Authenticator. Download the app, download and install the two-factor authentication backup key. You can use it to change your device to get the codes, or to restore access to your account if your smartphone is lost.
• SMS. The 2FA code will come in an SMS message to the number specified by the user each time he/she tries to log in to the account.

To enable 2FA in your CEX.IO:

• Sign in. Go to the Security tab on the profile page.
• Click “Enable” next to the 2FA settingsTo use SMS, specify the country and phone number. A code will be sent to it, which you must enter in a special field and click “Enable”. To use the application, download Google Authenticator, scan the QR code with it to link the account.
• Download the secret code. You can use it to change the gadget or regain access to your account. Enter the code the program generates.

To disable the two-factor authentication feature, you must complete a disable form. To access the form:

• Log in.
• On the authentication page in the form, enter personal information (ID, full name, date of birth and place of residence).
• Enter the phone number with the country code. Check if it is accessible.
• Enter the information about the last operations.

Provide a photo of your identity document. Specify its type, click “Upload” and follow the instructions. The ID card must have a Latin transliteration (or be issued in English). The issue date and expiration date should be clearly visible. If the latter is listed on the back, you must upload a photo of it as well. The photo should have a document and a note on it. After the photo is uploaded, the request will be sent for processing. After checking the information, the exchange team will send an e-mail with the results. The waiting period is up to 72 hours.

Suspicion of account hacking

If you think that your account has been hacked, report it to support via chat. The exchange will freeze the account, making it inaccessible to everyone. Make sure there are no open sessions, reset passwords and 2FA in the email. Confirm that the email is secure and provide all information to unlock the account. Once unlocked, reset the password and 2-factor authentication.

CEX.IO support team will collect information about unauthorized events (IP address and login date) and send it to you for further investigation. Crypto-exchange staff will help in identifying and locating the hacker and will take all actions to recover your lost funds in case of withdrawal by the fraudster.
