Badoo is this a scam? Review and Customers Reviews
Contents
Badoo – international dating site with many interactive options and a large audience. Is it something new and is it safe? Badoo – a scam or a decent resource? Let’s try to find out by examining the facts.
Why Badoo
badoo.com – a site with an interesting design (though not always clear) that always has something to do. You can browse through other users’ photos, giving “likes” to your favorites. You can pick up an interesting type and find all his doubles (the most similar people, also registered on badoo.com), if the question of appearance for you is principal. You can record your own or watch someone else’s video broadcast.
It has customizable notifications about messages, profile views, additions to favorites. And there’s a handy chat room. By the way, you don’t need to sign up for paid subscriptions to write to someone. They are here too, but at least do not affect the basic functionality. Activity is not too high. A lot of people with unclear intentions. However, at first impression the resource is quite interesting.
How to register at badoo.com
Registration for badoo.com starts from the home page. It is possible to authenticate via social networks Facebook/VK (fast version) or the usual way (with email confirmation). We chose the second option.
Enter your gender and the gender of the person you want to meet. Then enter your name, date of birth, location, email/phone address, and password.
Upload a photo (from your device or from your Facebook, Instagram, or VKontakte profile).
And confirm the specified email address by clicking on the link from the received letter. Registration is complete, and we go to a personal account.
Badoo Private Office
Badoo’s personal profile is unusual for perception: the developers have tried to make it different from the majority of similar ones. After registering on the landing page, you need to click on your avatar to find yourself in the profile. We will open a questionnaire for personal data, a verification block, a list of linked social networks and a scale of percentage completion.
All communications are displayed in the left (drop-down) menu:
- “Dating” – a gallery of likes. You scroll through users’ photos, giving a “like” (heart) or just skipping a photo you don’t like (X). The number of impressions of each user here is limited, increasing requires a fee (we’ll tell you about this later).
- “People near you” – a selection of questionnaires, whose owners, according to GPRS data, are near you.
- Live – video broadcasts (the same as stories on Instagram).
- “Messages” – lists of dialogs.
- “It’s mutual” is a match on the likes (when both you and the other person have given each other a heart).
- “Like you” – the likes given to you.
- “Visitors” – a list of visitors to your page.
- “Favorites” – the questionnaires you selected.
There is no standard search here: you either flip through profiles from the “Dating” section (but you can only set up likes there), or open a search from the “People near you” section. In the filter you set one of 3 goals, sex, age and region of the partner you’re looking for.
Badoo mobile app
Badoo has a mobile app for Android (from version 5.0) and iOS (12.0 and later) devices. Its functionality is the same as that of the desktop, the only difference is the layout (arrangement of elements). Downloadable mobile from the Google Play Market and App Store. The former gives it a score of 4.3 out of 5, the latter gives it a score of 4.5/5. Mostly users are dissatisfied with ads that cannot be skipped and the inability to be in the account in the background (you have to log in to the account again every time). We did not find any other complaints about the software.
Additional Badoo services
In addition to the basic functionality described above, there is a paid one, aimed at increasing the popularity of the profile:
- Badoo Premium – lets you move up in the search and message feed. You’re at the top until someone new joins the service or runs out of subscriptions. Also, without Premium, you can’t see who’s added you as a favorite and who has liked you. Free at the beginning of the site, then renewable for a fee
- Credits – the internal currency of the service, exchanged for raising the profile, increasing the number of impressions in “Dating”, stickers (the same stickers) for messages. When buying with a card 2750 credits cost 1500 rubles, with a phone or PayPal 550 credits purchased for 450 rubles.
- Increase popularity (separate from premium) – increasing the number of posts, visitors, likes, likes. Exit to buy credits.
There is also free entertainment. For example, the search for look-alikes – similar to you (or your chosen users) in appearance people from different regions. You can share a photo comparison in a social network (Facebook, Twitter) or messenger (Telegram). Or search for friends by correspondence on the site (perhaps someone from your email database is also on Badoo).
Help of a psychologist
There is no help or counseling from a psychologist on badoo.com. Perhaps it’s all about specifics: no one gives you guarantees of successfully finding your other half and is not responsible for possible disorders, so rehabilitation is also not included in the list of services, because you can’t sue (as they do abroad). So there is no need to stabilize your condition.
Tests
There is no testing on the dating site, either. The emphasis of the platform is on interactive options, not compatibility settings. There aren’t even many search filters, simply because you’re pushed to communicate (through the purchase of paid features, of course) rather than a strict selection process.
Compatibility analysis
As all sorts of tests to better assess the character, psychological type of the person on Badoo is absent, there is no compatibility analysis. There is simply nothing to do it on: there is no material. And all the basic parameters (age, gender, region) are customizable in the search.
How to start online dating on Badoo
In “Dating” you only like other community members. But in “People near you” you get the possibility to send a message to the user you like. At first, it’s just a greeting (the “Say Hello” button will send the appropriate text). Free stickers and gifts are also available. What to choose is up to you.
Filling out a dating profile on badoo.com
The Badoo dating form is designed in an original way. It’s not a long page of fields, but a consistent, guided completion. Pop-up prompts tell you what to do. After completing registration and uploading a photo (by the way, for greater efficiency, it is suggested to upload a photo from a social network), we begin to specify personal information: information about work and education.
Give a free-form description of yourself.
We talk about marital status, sexual orientation (these fields can be skipped). And finally, we pass verification: we make a photo, in which we depict a gesture according to the given sample. All fields can be edited at any time. And besides, additional fields are added from the main page: height, weight, build, eye color, hair color, living conditions, presence of children, attitude to smoking and drinking alcohol, language skills, interests (tags). In general, the standard characteristics. The more complete your profile is, the more impressions you will get.
Online chat for communication
Online chat is in the form of a list of dialogs (like in VK or Odnoklassniki). If you click on any of them, you will find yourself in a separate dialog box. You can add a conversation with an interesting person to your favorites (asterisk), and then it will be displayed at the top of the list. In addition, there are happy premium owners there.
Tips for communicating on the site
Since on the website badoo.com You will meet a variety of people (and not all will start a dialogue with “pure” intentions), we advise you to adhere to some rules to save yourself from unnecessary anxiety and unpleasantness:
- Clearly define your goals for being on the platform and write them in the status – this will somewhat reduce the flow of candidates that do not match your interests.
- Don’t trust pictures – ask for a link to a real social networking page. Of course, there may also be a fake, but there are still more chances.
- Do not be in a hurry to tell personal information about yourself – do not give fraudsters a reason to exploit your weakness and use the information for personal gain.
- Under no circumstances transfer your money to other people’s accounts, no matter how plausible their stories may seem. The professionalism of the attackers has reached a very high level, and it is sometimes difficult to unravel their “schemes”.
Badoo bonuses
There’s no bonus program at Badoo – you only stand a chance of receiving commission from the company if you participate in its referral (affiliate) program. That’s what we’ll talk about.
Referral program
The Badoo referral program means that you receive a commission from every badoo.com user who makes purchases through your unique referral link. To participate in the program and receive the link you need to contact customer service. Then the url is placed at any public resource (without breaking the law and human rights), and then all clicks on it are recorded in the system. Depending on the traffic you are entitled to a certain reward:
- 40% – for the number of referrals (the very people who have clicked on your link) up to 200.
- 50% – for the number of referrals from 201 to 400.
- 60% – when the number of referrals from 401 to 600.
- 75% – for the number of referrals over 600.
Payments are made no later than 45 days after the end of the month in which the transition was recorded, and when the accumulation of more than 100 euros.
Complaints about Badu
Many Badoo users are dissatisfied with the site because of the large number of bots and inadequate people. The first ones stimulate your activity and “lead” to the purchase of paid options (raising profiles, sending gifts). The latter are trying to get rich or satisfy their complexes. One way or another, as a result, account holders only lose money and/or nerves.
Many people resent the automatic charges (after buying a subscription, the latter is renewed again and again until you disable it by contacting support and waiting for a response – until then the money will be deducted every month).
If there’s any feedback about Badoo Dating, we’ll be sure to post it on social media. Sign up so you don’t miss out!

The rights to Badoo.com belong to Badoo Trading Limited (part of the Badoo Group), registered in the UK under 07540255. Disputes with the provider are resolved by the European Online Dispute Resolution Platform (ODR) of the United Kingdom.
Badoo age restrictions
Only a person who is at least 18 years old (or older if the country of residence stipulates that the age of majority is later) can use the site. This is stated in the policies of the resource.
Badoo User Agreement
The user agreement defines the duties and rights of the service and customers to each other. For example, it is forbidden to post content that contains profanity, insults, threats, incitement to violence, slander, spam, advertising, viruses and spyware, that discloses someone’s personal information and endangers a person’s safety.
You can’t share your profile with third parties. And you can’t give them your account password.
Services are provided on an “As Is” basis: there is no guarantee that the site will always run smoothly, and the information in it will be accurate.
If you violate community rules, your account may be frozen or permanently deleted. Prosecution is also possible.
Badoo disclaims any responsibility for the consequences of users’ actions towards each other.
The maximum compensation you can get even due to the negligence of the service staff is 20 euros.
Customer Service badoo.com
The only form available for contacting badoo.com’s support team is the feedback form. And you still need to try to find it: there is a link in the answer to the question “How do I contact the support team? FAQ (knowledge base). Representatives of the company also answer questions in the official Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram communities.
Is Badoo a scam?
Badoo cannot be called a blatantly fraudulent resource, and yet some elements of deception are present here. For example, bots that create artificial activity, increasing the user’s time on the site. The latter must come to understand the need to buy a premium account, because much of the functionality becomes inaccessible to him.
Another point is auto-renewal of subscription (when once paid premium is renewed over and over again, and the fee is charged without permission or prior notice). Of course, you can opt out of it, but not everyone reads the rules, and that’s where some providers profit from. In the user agreement, by the way, oppressive clauses – everything is spelled out in accordance with international requirements. In general, Badoo is not a scam in the literal sense, but the service still does not inspire complete confidence.
Conclusion
В Badoo a lot of interesting things: likes, twins, finding friends from your email agent (say, Gmail), also registered on the site, video broadcasts (stories), etc. Private office is built unusually, and at times it is difficult to navigate, but creates some variety in a series of almost identical dating services. There is a good mobile application and the ability to register through social networks (the latter, by the way, increases the chance of meeting a real person with real photos).
However, online reviews demonstrate that the site is full of scammers, bots, and just plain unpleasant people, and the operator is unable to ensure the safety of its clients. And it even specifically states in the user agreement that it is not responsible for the actions of account holders. As a result, the perfect picture falls apart, and badoo.com doesn’t seem as great as it does at first glance.
