Verifying your Currency.com account

On the trading platform Currency.com trading without verification is possible for 15 days with the equivalent of up to 1000 euros. Therefore, if you have plans to trade on the site currency.com constantly, it is better to proceed to verification immediately after registration, especially since Currency will constantly remind you of it, and this is due to the fact that according to the law crypto exchange must meet KYC requirements (know your customer). But more importantly, if verification is not completed within the 15-day period, the account will be suspended. If there were any open orders with leverage during that time, they will be closed automatically.

If the account is not verified, the corresponding status is indicated in the upper right corner of the site. The account verification form is activated there, in the “Live” drop-down menu. After clicking on “Complete registration” a page of downloading documents will appear. You’ll need to upload a color photo of your ID for verification to confirm your account affiliation. This document must be a state document, contain full name, date of birth, citizenship, date of issue, expiration date, and document number.

Suitable, for example, passport or driver’s license, allowed both in Russian and in English. Before you send a photo of the document for verification, you need to make sure that the document is fully visible, the photo has no bleeding areas, all the inscriptions are clearly visible. Images are accepted in JPG, PNG, JPEG, PDF, MOV, MP4 formats. Photo IDs can be emailed to: [email protected] instead of uploading them, the requirements are the same.

If it is a passport, send a photo of the spread, if it is a card ID or a residence permit, send a photo of the front and back sides. The Exchange may also require additional documents, which are sent to the above-mentioned email. Carrencie Exchange promises to complete the full verification within 24 hours, but the verification may take longer. In any case, if within a day there are no messages about the results of verification, it is necessary to check spam in the mail and, if there is no answer, you can contact the support service.

When registering and verifying with Currency, mistakes can be made. The document can fail verification if the document is not fully visible (all 4 corners of the document should be in the frame), the image is blurred, there are areas of light, there is no date of issue, there is no full required information about the client, the document is not in the required language. If the photo is rejected, you should try to pass the check a second time, eliminating the mistakes.

You may also need to change your user information because of new documents, a new address and/or a new phone number. In this case, a new or alternative document, or a new address or phone number is sent to the support mail. If you change your address, Currency may require an additional supporting document. By the way, the account can be closed. And for this, too, you will need to contact the support team by email.

Other KYC procedures

The “Know Your Client” requirements on the Currency platform do not end with account verification. The exchange may require a client to confirm that the bank card he uses to work on the platform belongs to the client. In this case, you will need to send a selfie with the card in your face to the Currency support email. The card must show the first 6 and the last 4 digits of the card number, the expiration date and the name of the card holder, and if the holder’s data is on the other side, you will have to take two selfies.

Nowadays virtual cards are popular, to confirm them you will also need to take a selfie, and the card must be clearly visible on the monitor of the computer or other device. But that’s not all. In addition to selfies + photo card, you’ll need to send a photo or scan of the bank statement, which shows the name of the cardholder and card number. Or it should be an electronic bank statement. Currency.com may also require a confirmation of your bank account. The easiest way to get a statement is in the bank’s online account. If it is not quite clear where and which statement to get, you need to check with the bank’s support service.

To confirm the account, a scan or photo, or an electronic statement itself, is sent to the Currency Helpdesk. The exchange only needs the account holder’s account information, so all other information, such as transactions, must be concealed. If during one month the amount of money deposited to the Currencies account exceeds the equivalent of 20,000 US dollars or 18,000 euros, the exchange will require proof of the source of the money. This is also included in Currency’s list of procedures. It should be photos or scans of actual documents on payment or savings, loans, sale of real estate, inheritance, divorce, court decisions and others. The list of documents is also given for cryptocurrencies.
