As an interior designer working both as a freelancer and for a small design studio, I previously relied on SketchUp and 3ds Max for my projects. Still, I felt it was time to transition to something faster and more convenient. That’s when I decided to test the software from Coohom.
The registration process seemed straightforward since I used my Google account. Right after signing up, the platform redirected me to the starting page with a menu (screenshot 1). From there, I could either start a new project from scratch or upload an existing one. Additionally, I had the option to choose from pre-designed templates of apartments with multiple rooms — and all this was available in the free Basic version! Amazing!
The main downside of the free version is, of course, the presence of watermarks (screenshot 2), which can only be removed by upgrading to Coohom Pro. However, I was offered a 70% discount, which was definitely a pleasant surprise!
Despite the offer, I decided to first test the features of the Basic package to see if the platform would work well for me overall. At first glance, the interface seemed a bit overwhelming — menus everywhere: on the right, left, top, and even additional buttons at the bottom, which initially confused me (Screenshot 3).
To get a better grasp, I headed to the Tutorials section in the upper right corner to quickly familiarize myself with the main functions and tools. There are instructions for beginners, materials, components, and even specific video tutorials for kitchens and bathrooms! What I really appreciated was that the video tutorial could be opened in a small window on the right side, allowing me to watch it while simultaneously working on my project — super convenient!
When it comes to rendering, the speed is outstanding! The rendering quality in 4K and 2K resolutions is unbelievable! I considered switching from 3ds Max to Coohom precisely because of the speed. Many designers are transitioning to Coohom for this very reason. It’s not just about getting beautiful images but also reducing working time. My rendering took only three minutes, which is fantastic! If speed is crucial for you, I recommend opting for the Pro plan with unlimited 4K visualization right away.
Another plus I’d like to highlight is the library of ready-made models. The variety here is unmatched by competitors. The materials are highly realistic, and the models come in various colors and forms, all available in the built-in library. All components can be easily dragged and dropped into the layout area — simple drag-and-drop functionality. You can always peek at existing ideas and borrow inspiration from them.
Once the design is complete, you can share a link with your client — a feature I find incredibly convenient. As for pricing, I’d say it’s relatively affordable compared to competitors. However, the plan I eventually chose for myself, Coohom Pro, doesn’t include material import capabilities — you’ll need to upgrade to the more expensive Elite package for that.
Another great feature of Coohom is its cloud integration. This allows you to work from anywhere. For instance, I often start a project at home and finish it in the office. I don’t need to carry external drives or a laptop loaded with projects — they’re accessible wherever there’s an internet connection. If you work in this manner, like I do, I think you’ll definitely appreciate it!
What I didn’t like, however, was the search function for materials — it has a complicated navigation system, and the materials aren’t well-structured. Searching takes a lot of time, but if you don’t use the built-in materials and only upload your own, this issue won’t affect you. I believe Coohom should focus on improving their material catalog and search functionality in the future to avoid losing regular customers.
Basically, I decided to try Coohom was a lack of rendering speed in other services. I was also dissatisfied with the final image quality and the complex interfaces of the programs I had been using before. Coohom presents all of this much better: now I save time and can take on more projects — and, of course, make more money!

Totally agree with everything you said! I’m not a professional designer — just someone who wanted to redo my apartment — and Coohom made the whole process surprisingly fun and easy. I used one of the pre-made templates to get started and ended up designing my entire space myself. The drag-and-drop feature and rendering quality blew me away. It’s awesome to hear it works just as well for pros like you!
Fantastic speed and quality
